Indigo Child

For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can’t readily accept the God formula, the big answers don’t remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God.

We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state and our educational system.

We are here to drink beer.

We are here to kill war.

We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.

We are here to read these words from all these wise men and women who will tell us that we are here for different reasons and the same reason.

orchidsonmydoorstep asked: Hi! I found your post under the LMU tag and was really interested in getting your opinion on your experience there? I'm looking into transferring there and wanted to know how the overall student feel was? Competitive, friendly, supportive, collaborative, or difficult? How was the faculty in terms of being helpful and supportive? I'd really love to hear from you when you get the chance, thanks so much!

Hi! LMU was wonderful. I would say that the environment there is more of a friendly, collaborative AND supportive one. I ended up meeting MOST of the students I know by randomly having lunch at the “lair” one day or because they knew someone that I hung out with. I met most of my close friends early on, and stuck with the same general group for my whole time there. The campus isn’t clique-y, and the faculty genuinely wants to see their students do well, with the exception of a few, but I won’t even waste my time discussing them :) In my experience, professors typically want to get to know their students by name, face, or at the very least a distinguishing characteristic (I have big, curly hair!) I am an Actress and I would say 95% of my professors would accommodate my request to submit assignments early, attend a earlier or later section, etc. I think you’ll love it there. Take THST 398 with Burton-Christie, if you get a chance, and if you are at all into energy and spirituality. Best academic course I’ve ever taken! I don’t see how anyone could not love LMU :) Hope I covered everything you wanted to know xx
